Does the ethmac core support RMII? If not, what are the options for
converting MII to RMII?

Technicaly if you don;t look for extra optimisation you can simple build an rmii ro mii and mii to rmii module which will sit before and after the Eth code. the mii to rmii is quite simple as bacily all you need it to convert the nibble in 25M to dibit in 50M and if your clocking schem is "nice" you don;t need to worry about phase etc. the rmii to mii is a bit more tricky as first notice that the phy will generate junk at the begining BEFORE the preamble, second keep in mind that the data at the "end" might (and will) have toggeling of the crsdv from the phy, and lastly but not least if your system clock is 25M than generating 50M out of this is not enough to be sure you are in sync with the 50M data from the rmii as the rmii data might be on the "other clock" of the 50M so again depend on your clocking schem you might need to sync the data to your internal 25M. have a nice day Illan -----Original Message----- From: ed@anuff.com [mailto:ed@anuff.com] Sent: Saturday, April 03, 2004 2:14 PM To: ethmac@opencores.org Subject: [ethmac] Status of RMII support?
